Celebrating 50 Years of Gynecologic Oncology
The 50th Society of Gynecologic Oncology Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer was held in Honolulu, Hawaii, March 16-19, 2019, to commemorate 50 years of SGO and the gynecologic oncology specialty. During the opening plenary session of the SGO Annual Meeting, a diverse group of SGO members shared their persepctives on the history of the Society and why they chose a career in gynecologic oncology:
Since 1969, SGO members have paved the way for the gynecologic oncology subspecialty and will continue to make history for the next 50 years. There has never been a better time to be a part of the premier medical society for the gynecologic oncology subspecialty.
